Larry-UMa SynLink 1.0.6 updates the SynLink firmware and app. Please update both to get everything below. Highlights Smarter autofocus – U-Curve (HFD) is now the default. Saturated stars and hot pixels are filtered out, and when focusing fails you're told why. Guiding Assistant and Guiding Log – measure your setup, get suggested guiding settings and apply them in one tap. Then review each night's guiding in SynLink or PHD2 format. Live Stacking calibration – shoot bias, darks and flats into a Calibration Library and reuse them across sessions. Live stacking can now be paused and supports GPU acceleration. Rotator upgrades – new Cable Wrap Protection, and each target can carry a sky angle that the rotator turns to automatically before capturing. Dome support – 10 dome drivers. The dome follows the mount and closes when the mount parks. Redesigned app – a new capture screen with separate exposure, readout and transfer progress, a refreshed visual style across the app, and new Spanish and Hungarian translations. Autofocus U-Curve (HFD) is the default method. A failure now tells you which problem it hit: the focuser was too far out of focus, the stars were too large, or no stars were found. Saturated stars and hot pixels no longer skew the result. The focus curve is drawn live in the app, and large-sensor cameras focus faster. A focuser stuck in "busy" no longer hangs autofocus. Guiding Guiding Assistant: measures star drift, suggests guiding parameters and applies them in one tap. Guiding Log: one log per night in SynLink or PHD2 format. You can view the curves and per-segment statistics in the app. Frames with a sudden jump in star quality or size are skipped, and guiding keeps running. Multi-star guiding: losing one secondary star no longer throws away the whole frame. Dithering has a new RA Only option, and settling detection is more accurate. Calibration is more accurate, warns you near the celestial pole, and a failed calibration no longer goes on to guide. Color guide cameras: bright stars no longer clip and fade. A hung guide camera exposure is aborted and retried automatically. Optional automatic recalibration after the rotator turns. Alert sound for guiding alarms and lost stars. Polar Alignment Adjustment readings are accurate at any latitude. Earlier versions used a 45° approximation. The app has a new Prepare / Measure / Adjust step panel. Several devices can watch the same run, and any of them can take over. Long exposures no longer miss measurements. The mount is synced as soon as you confirm the result. Plate Solving & Centering Centering solves again after each correction. It succeeds only once the target is within 1′ or 1% of the field of view. Wide fields over 16° no longer solve several hundred arcseconds off. Mounts OnStep: Fixed targets ending up about 1° off-center after a meridian flip. The guide rate can now be set from SynLink and stays in step with the hand controller. This also applies to NYX. ZWO AM mounts: GOTO no longer reports completion early, parked status is shown correctly, and sync failures give a specific reason. Gemini: the mount no longer re-parks right after unparking. Several LX200-family mounts: park and unpark now work reliably. Sky-Watcher (SynScan App driver): adds a Home position. iOptron: model, protocol and firmware are detected automatically. Pro Mode sequences retry centering twice after a meridian flip. Rotators Cable Wrap Protection for Falcon, Camelot, NightCrawler, ARCO, ZWO, WA, iAFS, Integra and DSD FR1. Optec rotators handle cable wrap in their own firmware. Set a sky angle per target in Easy Mode and Offline Plans, and the rotator turns to it before capturing. Optec and other rotators no longer turn on their own after a plate solve. Focusers 11 focusers no longer stay "busy", finish early or stop a few steps short: SteelDrive II, Lacerta, Optec, QHY, DMFC, Prodigy Moonlite, FLI, EFA, Astromechanics, MJKZZ PrimaLuceLab: connects on the first try, and adds a step-by-step travel calibration. ZWO EAF and EFW: more reliable hot-plugging. Domes 10 dome drivers are now available. The dome follows the mount and closes automatically when the mount parks. Capture & Sequences New capture screen: The status bar and shutter progress ring show exposure, readout and transfer to your phone as separate stages. Camera settings can be adjusted right in the overlay. Cooling and frame type have moved to Configuration. New guiding mini window and histogram capsule. Easy Mode: progress panels for autofocus, GOTO and cloud recovery. "Sequence Plans" is now Offline Plans. Cloud recovery no longer slews or centers at the wrong moment. Filter wheels and focusers can be connected or disconnected during preview. Live Stacking Calibration with bias, dark and flat frames, plus a new Calibration Library. If the library hasn't changed, the stacked master frames are reused. Live stacking can be paused. A closed flat-panel cover is opened automatically before live stacking starts. GPU-accelerated stacking. Cameras & Accessories ZWO cameras: a failed exposure start is retried immediately. Lens heater control for Player One, ZWO, ToupTek-family and Atik cameras. Flat panels: heater, open and close positions, and calibration settings. Sky Map & Objects New framing ring, and an AR calibration panel that aligns automatically from a single shot. GOTO always targets the center of the framing box. Global search for objects. Comets and challenge objects can be added to favorites. Solar system objects have a 3D model view. Devices, Storage & Network The SynLink page now shows storage usage and lets you clear internal storage and eject an external drive. Wi-Fi passwords can be up to 63 characters. You get a hint when SynLink is already on the same network over Ethernet. Connection The home screen lists every SynLink found nearby. Tap one to connect. A brief network drop no longer sends you back to the home screen, and automatic reconnection keeps retrying. Messages & Logs "Log" is now Messages, with an unread badge. All SynLink messages are translated into your language. Share with Us sends a diagnostics package to our support team. Look & Feel A unified visual style across the app with a glass look, new background colors, smoother rounded corners and consistent animations. The app respects your system's Reduce Motion setting. Small text is larger and bolder, headings are bold, and taps have a new sound. New languages: Spanish and Hungarian. Desktop: New window status bar. Closing the window on macOS keeps the app running. Shared files can be saved with "Save As". Better battery life. The sky map only runs while it's on screen, and the screen stays awake only while a task is running.
